Word for 2013

“But Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and occupy it; for we are well able to overcome it.” (Numbers 13:30).

As we are entering the year 2013, it is very easy to become afraid and discouraged at what we are facing in the natural: the fiscal cliff, tax increases, low interest rates, the national debt, the battle over firearms, etc., etc., etc. The important thing is that we don’t jump over the cliff of fear! This is the year of faith! Without faith it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6). This is the year to move forward, of overcoming every giant and every mountain in our lives; especially the strongholds of fear and unbelief in our minds that has kept so many of God’s people trapped in a pit of passivity, preventing them from entering into God’s purposes for their lives. Whose report are you going to believe? What the world says or what the Word of God says?

“Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.” (Luke 21:33).

“Go, therefore and make disciples of all nations…” (Matthew 28:19).

When the twelve spies went to spy out the promised land, ten spies came back with a negative report, saying that they couldn’t take over the promised land because the cities were very well fortified and because there were giants in the land. The other two spies, Caleb and Joshua, came back saying that they could take over the land because of God’s promise. The ten spies looked at the circumstances; Joshua and Caleb looked at God; the ten spies saw themselves as grasshoppers; Joshua and Caleb saw themselves as “more than conquerors” because God was with them. You see, this year the lines are being clearly drawn between those that believe and are doers of God’s word, and the ones that are gripped with unbelief and fear. The ten spies that were gripped with unbelief and fear never made it to the promised land; only Joshua and Caleb in that generation were able to enter into the promised land and occupy it.

What do you need to overcome in your life in order to enter into your prophetic destiny? What has the Lord promised you that you still haven’t seen with your eyes? Know that passivity will lead you nowhere! Put action to your faith, because “faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead.” (James 2:17).

“….the righteous are bold as a lion.” (Proverbs 28:1b).

The Lord is releasing the anointing of a lion! Why is this important? Because lions never retreat; they only move forward! Lions are not intimidated by anyone or anything! We cannot allow the circumstances around us to intimidate us! There is another reality: Kingdom reality! We are citizens of another kingdom, one “that cannot be shaken” (Hebrews 12:28); we are a people chosen by God, separated unto Him, set apart for His purposes. We are alive for such a time as this! We represent the King of Kings and He has equipped us with every spiritual weapon that we need in order to see His kingdom released “on earth as it is in heaven.”

Why do we need holy boldness? To proclaim the gospel of the kingdom with conviction and demonstrate its power with healings, miracles, signs and wonders! (1 Corinthians 4:20).

This could be the greatest time for the Church, if we just wake up! People in the world are getting more and more desperate, more fearful, more confused, more depressed. Who will go to them? Who will give them an encounter with Jesus? Who can heal them? Who can set them free? Who can prophesy life to them? You can! I can! We can! The Lord has been preparing us for 2013! I say it’s time to become bold like a lion! I say it’s to break out of the passivity and start harvesting the lost into the kingdom!

Come Holy Spirit, release fresh fire unto our hearts and awaken us!

“When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; pray therefore the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” (Matthew 9:36-38).

Will you say YES to Jesus this year?
